26 January 2023, Milan – Carbonsink climbs onto the podium of the 2023 edition of the ‘Most climate-conscious companies’ ranking compiled by Corriere della Sera / Pianeta 2030 and Statista. The study identifies the 130 Italian companies that have taken action to reduce their impact on the environment, while not foregoing business growth.
For the second year running, the study analysed the CO2 emissions of around 700 companies active in the country, with the highest turnover or listed on the Italian stock exchange, and then determined the CO2 emission reduction rate in relation to the 2019-2021 turnover. With an emission reduction rate of 52.52%, Carbonsink – an Italian climate consultancy company that since 2022 has been part of South Pole, with which it forms the world’s largest group for solutions and projects to reduce climate emissions – reaches the Planet 2030 ranking’s top, after Acque Bresciane, which Carbonsink itself supported on its climate journey.
A fast-growing company, Carbonsink wants to address the climate challenge by decoupling economic growth from environmental impact, committing to improving its climate performance, both in terms of reducing CO2 emissions and progressing towards net-zero mitigation targets.
“Being part of the Pianeta 2030 ranking of the most climate-conscious Italian companies is an important recognition of Carbonsink’s journey throughout the years, pairing a strong focus on climate and great domestic and international growth, which we are always pursuing with a view to constant improvement. The fact that this ranking includes many companies we have supported in their decarbonisation path makes us proud and confirms that climate action and business growth go hand in hand” commented Mara Zantedeschi, Senior Consultant, Environmental Impact Assessment, Carbonsink
